The role of the bra

/

This text explaining the "role of bras" comes from the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" ministry-level planning textbook "Underwear Design" for clothing higher education.

In this paragraph on the "role of bras", there is no mention of the role of "body adjustment" that most women who wear bras care about.

The "adjusted" bra on the market looks like this:

The picture indication (1) is the side belly and the label (2) is the lower rib.

As shown in the figure, the "adjusted" bra is generally based on the "everyday" bra with a wider area of the side and lower rib.

The side belly is the back pull tab of the bra, the main function is to help the cup fix on the chest; The main role of the undercut is also to help the cups be held in place on the chest.

Increasing the area of these two parts of the bra simply increases (strengthens) the bra's binding surface on the body. When wearing, it may be possible to tighten and cover up (such as the "side breast" in front of the armpit) in a short period of time, but it does not play a role in "adjusting" the body.

Bras do not directly adjust the body, let alone change the position of the breast on the body. The "outreach" issue that most women are concerned about.

Breasts that grow on the chest, like the mouth and nose on the face, can be changed by "plastic surgery", but not their position.

The human body is cylindrical. The breast is located in a wide position of the thoracic cage, its center of gravity is directed to the outside and below, and its shape may also be affected by the position of the sternum and ribs. It is a physical "innate" factor that prevents the breasts from being "concentrated".

When wearing cups smaller than those needed for breast bodying, the overly pressurized breast expands out like flattened dough, except that the breast interior seems "closer" (there is cleavage, or the breast is deep and long) – something most women who expect to adjust their body through a bra only see this.

It's just that bras have been released for a hundred years, and there is no successful example of breasts being "shaped" because of insistence on wearing bras or adjustable bras.

The "expansion" caused by acquired factors, long-term wearing too small underwear and excessive squeezing of breasts are the influencing factors.

The center of gravity of the breast is originally biased to the outside and below, especially when it is oversqueezed. Breasts that have been oversqueezed for a long time tend to be more lateral and downward. The manifestations of "extension" can be seen by observation of the skin on the chest.

When "extravagation" occurs, the skin on the chest shifts and elongates (loses elasticity) more outward and downward. To improve the appearance of "outreach," the skin on the chest is tightened (retracted) so that the breasts look less outward and down.

Whether it is a congenital factor or an acquired influence caused by "expansion", as a clothing bra, it does not have the role of "plastic surgery" or "medical care", and the bra does not have the function of changing the position of the breast or tightening (restoring elasticity) of the skin.

In addition to the "role of bra" mentioned in the textbook "Underwear Design", the role of wearing a bra as I understand it is mainly to help support the breasts, reduce some of the weight on the body, and add some protection. If the bra is worn to suit the body's body's needs, it is only under limited conditions to maintain the figure.

The bra can "attach" to the body and produce a feeling of "support" through "compression" - the cup is nearly "hanging" and buckled upside down on the chest, the bottom of the cup (bracket) is pressed against the bottom of the breast (breast chassis), and the breast is "sinking" in the cup; The strap that helps the cup be fixed to the chest, and the shoulder strap that connects the cup and the girdle respectively are attached to the body by strangulation.

The area and extent to which the mask "compresses" the breast, creating different visual effects.

The "sense of support" I can feel is that the bottom of the cup is pressed against the chest (bottom of the breast), and the breast does not feel uncomfortable due to shaking when walking briskly - the cup wraps the breast in an inverted state, supporting help and not making the breast shake so easily Only relatively speaking, "breast shaking" is affected by factors such as breast size, elasticity, shape and range of motion, and the breast that has been overly compressed or not supported at all for a long time (excessive compression of the breast is also not supported and helped), the breast or weakness to droop, Breasts are easy to shake when walking quickly, and I feel that it can be solved after replacing the bra.

How to wear a bra correctly to put yourself in shape?

Before the birth of the modern bra, European women had worn corsets for hundreds of years, while in ancient China, women wore belly pockets. Modern bras, generally believed to have started in 1907, flourished in the 50s of the last century (after the end of World War II) and gradually became one of the most representative daily necessities of modern women.
